On Wednesday, 2009 July 22, a total eclipse of the Sun is visible from within a narrow corridor that traverses half of Earth. The path of the Moon's umbral shadow begins in India and crosses through Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar and China. After leaving mainland Asia, the path crosses Japan's Ryukyu Islands and curves southeast through the Pacific Ocean where the maximum duration of totality reaches 6 min 39 s. A partial eclipse is seen within the much broader path of the Moon's penumbral shadow, which includes most of eastern Asia, Indonesia, and the Pacific Ocean.

We're not going to be able to see it in North America because it will be a new moon on this side of the planet, because on the 23rd is the Summer Solstice.

I've heard several mentions about this particular year (2012) on a few History channel shows. I'm guessing if anything ever ends, it'll be civilization, the world is gonna keep on spinning.

That bullshit date is actually what I was mocking.

I used to take history channel seriously, until I watched one of those 2012 shows from it on youtube.

Maybe we should go back to being afraid of witchcraft too... Oh wait, never mind.

2012 was the Mayan calendar. Yeah, that is what they believed.

So Culp said that the pacific should get a good view.. and Ama says that North Amer wont get a glimpse...... What about not connected to north america and in the pacific?Such as... Hawaii?
