Should The Nest Remain Open?

Lately I have been having ideas for another site (most of you wouldn't be interested in it). This site would also be forum based. As such, the license I'm using for this site could be transferred, thus saving me a few dollars. And with the current level of activity here, this seems rather feasible.

My question for you all is this;

Would any of you care? I, obviously, have a certain degree of attachment to The Nest. A lot of time and effort has been spent on this place. And I am willing to keep it open at the request of the members. It is your site after all. I simply have no interest in maintaining, and financing an empty Nest.

well, i like it here. I don't have much time to post, I travel for my job, i'm in night school, i have a family, etc. But, I've enjoyed the people here and would like to continue when I can.

I'm new here, but I like it. Yes, it's a little slow so far. But most boards I've been on have an ebb and flow to them, just like the tide. Sometimes fast, sometimes not so fast.

There seems to be a bunch of very good people here and a couple of not so good.

I think it would be a shame to disband them.

But it's your place, to do with as you wish or have time for.

I actually kept reading and spotted this diamond of a thread amongst the coal mine of a forum. Perhaps it was the glimmer of light that shined off the finely honed stainless steel of the razor blade you were using. On the idea of getting to know you:
I do know you. Maybe not on a personal level, but more in the way you are garden variety simpleton who creates complex disguises for obvious actions and emotions.

What you want me to do is get to know your perception of you, rather than you yourself. They are unrelated and dissimilar. I have no interest in the longevity and/or the survival of this forum, giving me a unbiased opinion of your actions. You, on the other hand, are directly involved and incapable of stepping back to see the plain, simple truth.

You started this forum for one purpose and it turned into an unrelated mish-mosh. You rolled with it because it gave you a feeling of leadership and order, but it drew you away from your prime objective. Now, you have seen your original sidetracked creation become less than desirable and considered starting over. You're looking for a reason to return to the beginning, to create what you originally intended, but the collection of useless metal (your members) on your magnet (your forum) is weighing down your desire to complete your original idea. They are the barnacles on the hull. Scrape them off.

The updated casino: I took a long enough break to purge the need or desire to visit the casino. It was a simple matter of knowing the problem, knowing the person with the problem, recognizing it, and being honest enough with myself to know how to fix the problem. Obvious solution wound up being the elimination of the casino from my entertainment lineup.
