Them coon-asses know all kinds of great food.

Want so real good fun?

Ride on over to Breaux Bridge on Sat. morning and drop in to Cafe' Des Amis (http://www.cafedesamis.com/) for a Zydeco Breakfast. I highly recommend the Don't Mess with My Tas-so" Omelet. Get there about 8:30 to 8:45, the music starts about 9:00. The bar is open and the dancing is wild. Great food, great fun. Not to be missed.

For Breakfast I agree, (Eggs Benedict Arnold) for dinner, not so much. Now the Blue Dog, or Poor Boys On The Riverside, ahhhh, that's fine eating. The Blue Dog is one of my all time favorites, anywhere.

Seriously though, if you've never tried Cafe' Des Amis for a Sat. morning breakfast, it's so much fun it should be illegal. Plus the food is absolutely great.

Cop, if you get the chance to visit them on Sat morning about 8:45 to 9:00 for breakfast, I'll guarantee that you'll love the entertainment and the food. Their lunch and dinner is supposed to be just as good, but without the fun entertainment. Though I have no experience with them except for breakfast on a Sat morning.

Sitting there eating great food and watching the dance floor fill up to overflowing, with all the local "characters" and ordinary people all doing the Cajun two step at 9:00am was just plain old fun. You have to hold on to your coffee cups to keep them from vibrating off the table. They have a live Zydeco band playing.

Also, if you get the chance, stop in for dinner at The Blue Dog Cafe in Lafayette.

The Blue Dog (http://www.bluedogcafe.com/gallery.php)

I've eaten there about a half dozen times, always great. My companions have tried a variety of dishes, from steaks to seafood and raved about everything. I've always started with the Corn And Crab Bisque and had the Chicken Bayou Teche, consisting of a large chicken breast stuffed with seafood and topped with a bacon rotelle cream sauce as the entree. I always leave thinking that that is what food should taste like all the time. Heaven on earth.

The last time I was there, was the first time I was able to take my wife with me. We had Valentine's dinner there year before last. It was one of the best meals of my entire life. And I'm very picky when it comes to food. It is on the pricey side, but well worth the cost. The art work on the walls, is worth visiting just to see, if you like George Rodrigue's (http://www.georgerodrigue.com/) work, which I do.

Try it, you'll like it.

Sounds interesting.

Bro, where exactly are you guys partying?

There is a slight possibility that I will be heading to LA for a conference instead of home.. which means I won't be accompanying the wife and kid to FSU for orientation in two weeks :(

Hope to get back to Houston sometime soon
