While ago and after a massive self-brainstorming session, I decide to make a Tripe Soup, it's almost done ... between other succulent ingredients...it has copious amounts of sweet peppers (red and orange), potatos, garlic. After 4 hours boiling (pressured) it looks like 'gravy'.

I will enjoy this jewel and will have a great time while doing so, I just wanted to pass this information on as a FYI.

thanks

with 'laney on her cruise, feasting on bountiful buffets and fine dining room cuisine, I thought I'd treat myself to some Bush's Baked Beans (Bold and Spicy) , straight from the can with a spoon, a few thick slices of the gub'mint cheese on the side.

After my night ride tonight, I may stop in at the Walmart and get some eclaires from the instore bakery to sugar out into oblivion with during the late cartoons (adult swim)

I buy it in the five pound brick at Sam's Wholesale.

(American cheese)

they used to give it to seniors in a monthly care package (some gov program years ago) with other staples .....I use the term "gub'mint cheese" loosely

One of my grandmothers used to get the "government cheese" and the "government powdered milk." Both were actually very good. Some of the best mac & cheese I've ever eaten were made with both. She used to make up the powdered milk and mix it half and half with regular milk and use it in her cooking.

don't forget the giant cans of peanut butter...

wunder why they cut that program...especially in small towns it help the old folks make it through the "social security" years

The programs were also to stabilize prices on milk, cheese and other farm products.

Milk was bought by the government and turned into powdered milk, butter and cheese to keep the price to the farmers high enough so they could produce and make money. Giving it away to the poor was cheaper than storing it, plus it would go bad after a while.

It made too much sense to do it that way, so they did away with the give a ways as far as I know.

....the lack of horse sense is obvious

lol...raising taxes on SS and retirement accounts MUST be the answer then!
