At my age, while it's not all that "old" I've lost a lot of people I know, including a few friends and several relatives, including my father.
Yesterday a friend, that I've known for about 12 years lost her battle with skin cancer. Kaye was 54. I am actually better friends with her husband Bill, but she was always happy and cheerful, every time I saw her. She was a great athlete while in college, had three daughters, who are all gifted athletes in their own rights.
While in college, she married a football player, a linebacker at NC State. Who went on to become fairly famous in the game.
I met them, like I said, about 12 years ago, when they bought a vacation home in my area. I would only get to see them a few times each year, as they didn't get to spend a lot of time here. But I always looked forward to spending as much time as I could with either or both, when they were here. They were both very good people. Their love for each other was always evident.
I can not imagine the pain Kaye's family is feeling to have lost such a fine lady. She was the light in Bill's life. And, was very, very close to her daughters.
She was much to vital and young to have died.
Rest in peace Kaye Cowher.
