I just saw this on my profile.

How does one receive a "reputation"?

If one doesn't receive a "good" one does it raise a flag against them as a participant here?

Can anything be done with them?

Wouldn't a "bad" one kinda be better "street cred" 'round, here anyway?

Inquiring mind wants to know.
:ooh:

OK, "Reputation" AKA Kudos is a fun little feature that allows users to accrue a Reputation level amongst the group. This is signified by the row of little orange rectangles (http://www.crowsnestforums.com/forums/crowsnest/reputation/reputation_pos.gif) in your postbit (avatar area).

Reputation is given by clicking the image of balancing scales (http://www.crowsnestforums.com/forums/crowsnest/buttons/reputation.gif) directly under said orange rectangles. Be sure to leave a reason for the Reps, and sign it.

You can give both positive and negative reps. No, no official flags are raised. It's simply a matter of compliment, or ,y'know, NOT.

There is a small credit transaction that goes along with the process as well, but it's minimal.

I hope this helps.

reputation(rep)-is what you could judge some ones character on, if some one posts some thing like cats shitting asparagus, and you just happen to have been looking for cats shitting asparagus, like cats shitting asparagus, or are some odd ball that is in the cat asparagus shitting championship, then you would give them some positive rep.

Now lets say some one posts a picture of there grandmother snorting cocaine off of a purple guardrail, and you are ageist purple guardrails, hate grandmothers, or in fact have a bad history of grandmothers purple guardrail addiction problems, then because of your distaste you would give them a negative rep.

Rep works as follows, the higher your rep, the more you can give. I don't not know what you could give if you have negative rep, but i doubt it would be a lot. To give some one rep on there post under there user name, profile pic and other information, there is an scale, that scale is the rep button for that person for that post. If you wanted to give some one who posted about taliban infants that can read at 4 months some positive rep(or negitive) you click the sclaes then a drop down menu will appear giving you the option of positive or negative, and you pick one, leave a comment about how you love those dirt turkeys reading at so you, then hit send and the reputation received place inside your user cp will show you them that comment and the positive( or negative) rep.

Reputation received, is a place that shows you a history of when and comments of the rep you have received. rep is mainly for show.

I belive i got most of that , I am a bit drunk so sorry for the mispelling and what not....

oh and this might be what you call a positive rep post ( or at least an good example)

Credits = Play Money used at Crows Nest Forums to play video games. Credits are earned by:

Posting, Blogging, Voting on Polls, Starting Threads, Logging in, Referring new members, etc. etc. etc. Y'know, basic site stuff. Not chatbox posts though. Sorry.
Winning Arcade & Casino games. Gamers should be aware that substantial prizes are also awarded for the top three score board positions in the Arcade every month.
Donations from other members. There is a link next to each member's credit total in their postbit, and another in their profile "Statistics" field, that allows you to donate credits to anyone you wish. NOTE: The donate input fields do not recognize commas. Do not use them as it treats them as decimals. ie. 1,000 credits awarded = 1.000 (or 1) credit awarded.
Ask the staff real nice when they're in a giving mood. You never know 'till you ask, and I've heard of days where there were 10,000 Credit gifts flying around willy-nilly.
