Well, I finally got 'em cleaned up. I'll tell you exactly what I did, so there's no confusion.
I went through the active users list, member by member, Rep award by Rep award. I selected any sequential gluts of reputation, or what I like to call "Rep Hump/Rape's", and reduced each of them to the first Rep given by a single user in any one time frame. ie. If you gave someone Reps 3x a minute for ten minutes one day, they have now been Repped ONCE for that entire little game of yours. Does this mean that you may have lost reps you deserved? Possibly, but I sincerely doubt it.
Now, I'll not name names (you know who you are), but the same users kept popping up as the abusers. To those users I would like to pose a question;
How arrogant are you to think that your singular opinion should carry enough weight to create a person's entire perceived reputation?
Anyway, from this moment on, I have replaced the restrictions on Reputation Given. There is now a limit on how frequently you can Rep one member, along with a limit to Reps given in a 24 hr period. Also, Reps are no longer anonymous. Everybody can see who gave them their (own) Rep.
If the new restrictions bother you, I'm sorry. I suggest that if you know who the culpable party is (don't ask me, I won't tell you, and it'll piss me off), that you thank them for breaking a system that has worked for the better part of three years.
