I rarely drink it, but as a general rule I call it "soda".

I never understood the habit of calling EVERY soft drink by the Product Name of a single soft drink. ie. Pointing to the orange soda and asking "Will you hand me a Coke?"

always soda *grew up calling it pop* never call it soda when asking a brit to get you a soda from the bar *cause you are the DD*...you get nasty soda water.
