TAMPA (Bay News 9) -- InBev, the new Belgian owner of Anheuser-Busch Cos., announced Monday that it will end the long standing tradition of giving out free beer at company-owned theme parks across the country.
For years patrons at SeaWorld Orlando and at Busch Gardens Africa in Tampa have enjoyed having free samples of the various types of beers offered by the company.
According to our partners at The St. Petersburg Times, the hospitality house at Busch Gardens Africa will close Jan. 25. When it re-opens it will offer a new cafe-style menu.
InBev said in a news release that the move is designed to increase the parks' appeal to various age groups.

I used to enjoy getting my free samples when we visited Bush Gardens and Sea World! It was a good way to beat the heat and it made you feel like you were getting a cool perk, especially since you were paying about $50 a ticket just to get into the parks.
Assholes are only concerned about saving money

I twa spretty cool. You were limited to three samples - about 4 oz.? each per day.
Of course, each time you went back, you go to a different "bar" or station, so you could basically drink beer for free throughout the day - as long as you didn't get drunk and thrown out.
All in all, I probably drank about a pack throughout a day when there - which is nothing because you are active and sweating it out. Damned refreshing, and you don't end up paying $40 for cheap assed soda

We have plenty of red necks here in Florida (see Storm), so it would be interested to see if there is any organized complaint. Of course, what would they care?
Rumor had it that they would sell off the parks once they purchased Anheuser Busch, anyway, so it may very well soon be on the market

That way they won't have enough money or time to fuck with people trying to make a honest living.

That sucks. Not that I ever had a free sample of beer at a theme park but damn it, now I can't even if I wanted to.
