I don't know if you guys have chewed the fat on this one yet?
Did you hear about the new government legislation thing on kids clothing?
Coming shortly (???), you will not be able to sell clothes that are age 12 and under because they may have been made overseas and contain lead.
Ebay already has a blurb up in their forums about when/if their ban could start.
You can still sell clothes if you want if you can prove they contain no lead. But you have to test the clothes yourself out of your own pocket. That could cost thousands.
Now, what does that mean to the private person in regards to garage sales?
Buckle up American's,..here we go!

True Stone....but what will it mean to charity organizations like Goodwill, and Salvation Army Stores?
Will they be required to test all their stuff out of their own pockets?
They won't foot the bill for that, it defeats their purpose..all the stuff will end up in a landfill somewhere.

I guess everybody will just have to wait and see what kind of guidelines are set up and what not.I doubt they're gonna get all hysterical just yet.

Viva la Revelucion!
I sometimes wonder who comes up with these ideas. Good to know your tax dollars are being put to good use.
Given a couple of months, and this will be implemented here in UK, regardless of if it is a good idea or not.

This would suck totally for me. I have 4 children, young mind you that outgrow things within months, and I am not ashamed to say that I shop at thrift stores. I buy all my kids' play clothes second hand and in fact many things they get are so nice that they are for school and church as well. I love the fact that I can save so much money and then turn right back around and donate things back for others.

I have always liked that idea.

Nothing wrong with second hand clothes Angel. Kids go through them way too fast. There was some ladies at my wifes work that had kids at different ages and they would swap clothes with each other. Great idea.

We do that too. I have a lot of friends with kids and we are always swapping out clothes.
