Yesterday, a bank robber tried to rob a bank in Cary, NC, a couple of hours up the road from where I live. It's an upscale small/medium sized town with a lot of very rich people, just outside of our state capitol, Raleigh.
From what I understand, a bank employee set off the silent alarm and the police got there about two minutes after it started. The robber took everyone inside, I think 7 or 8 people total hostage. There was one other person in the bank that the robber did not know about, who was hiding and in contact with the police the whole time.
The robber let some of the hostages go, and I think one got away on their own. Then the robber decided that he was going to leave, taking a hostage/woman with him as a shield.
As they were walking out with a gun to the lady's head, she fell to the ground, this is what happened:
