Today is a day in history. It is amazing to see how far we have come as a country that we are inaugurating the first African American president today. He comes into office with a hell of a mess and big expectations. He must jump right in with no chance to ease slowly into the presidency. Our economy is in the tank, we are in the middle of a war, and we always have the threat of more terrorist attacks looming over our heads. Whether you believe in his politics or not, he will now be our president and deserves our respect and prayers to get the job done and turn this country around and lead us in the right direction.

You are right about that Angel. He does deserve our prayers and respect (for his position.)
I don't agree with the first part of your thread though. America took a step backwards by voting him into office. He was nowhere near qualified for the job. He was elected for all the wrong reasons.
1-Just because he was black.
2-Just because people wanted to see history made.
3-Just because he was a fresh face.
4-Just because of his "Rock Star" Hoopla.
5-Just because he was young.
6-Just because he promised to share the wealth. (Big Lie.)
