Well this forum has been left out, so here is a home made tut for you posting dummies!


First things first, decide your program, i know its popular so here goes with gimp.


Down load it and install it.

Second we have to decide what we are going to make, lets make a cool floating logo.(Easiest thing for me to find I am not a gimpy gimper.)

Third you post it here after you do it your self, providing your fished work as well.


Now get to pposting tuts for the rest of use so I and others can learn.

Gimp

Text with outline

1. Place text on your image

2. Click the "layer" link

3. In the menu, select "transparency" and in the next menu select "Add alpha to selection"

4. Now click the "Select" link

5. In the menu, select "Grow"

6. Choose the size of your text outline in the dialog box

7. Go back to the "Layer" menu and click on "Stack"

8. In the stack menu, click on "Select next layer"

9. Go to the color chooser on the main Gimp box and choose the color of your text outline

10. Click the bucket fill icon

11. Drag the color from the color pallet and release it into the area around your text
