Don't ban me for noticing this but....for an eclipse....shouldn't there only be one rock with a shadow and/or the light source coming from the bottom right (for the moon's shadow) instead of the upper left?

I just wish I could do half.....hell...a tenth of what you guys can do.

The area of shadow cast by the moon as the sun shins behind it would be negligible given the perspective in the picture. By your logic, the moon would prevent any light from reaching the earth, and that just wouldn't make a very interesting picture.

What program did you used to create this cool little number ?

It's called "Blender" you can get it here >>> http://www.blender.org <<< but be warned, at no point during my Blender usage have I felt like I was creating art. This may change once I get a handle on the software, we'll see.

It is designed for creating 3D animations of type you find in children's films these days.

OK, it's not a masterpiece, but I figured I'd share my first attempt at 3D CGI type Rendering.

It's strictly tutorial stuff. I'll tell you what though, there is one HELL of learning curve there. It's the difference between Photoshop and Colored Pencils. No joke.

I tried working with blender...I really did...but I'd be better off tying taking a Quantum Physics class.

As I've been making some stuff for a contest on my favorite Gov't Mule fan site, it seemed like a good excuse to try and reinvigorate this section of The Nest.

The guidelines of this contest are to use one of the two "Dose" logos used by Gov't Mule as the basis of an original design. Also, each image must be named. I can submit up to five entries. Here are my first two.

I call this one "A Weathered Dose". For this one, I revisited the theme from my metal textures studies, which can be seen earlier in this thread.

This one is "Waits Dose". It's called that as it was inspired by the band's renditions of the Tom Waits classics 'Get Behind The Mule' & 'Goin' Out West'.

Well, it's a low res GIF version just to test it out, but I finally cracked the Blender open again and spent the last two days creating my first CG Animation.

Hopefully, it doesn't suck too bad.
