Ok,Someone I know has medical issues. ( not my mom she has her cancer surgery the 27th, their cutting her face)
how do you explain that blockage in neck artery is a big thing ..... but not have them go overboard? So far i tried the medical term thing.... i was called out for purposely trying to use big words to minimize his condition. Ok, I'll admit it ... i did . he's looking at a stroke before 40.
he's afraid that i'll beat around the bush and is about tired of me trying to tell him that its important , yet not gonna kill him by daybreak. I tried to explain with google images and web sites... they only scare him. I tried to point and explain... but he is stuck on the whole "Im gonna have a stroke" .
First CT scan showed right side cartoid with plaque on left side of inner artery. basically the right artery, then it splits into 2 arteries.... outer one supplies blood to face... inner one feeds the brain. On the left side of the inner.. is a partial blockage.
he has all the sign/symptoms of angina but not in its proper location. he has angina issues in his head and neck, upper back. Major debilitation headaches, muscle stiffness etc... his issues are magnified by activity or stress. basically take everything associated with angina and place it in his head... there ya have it .
The Doc's have him waiting a month for a follow up CT with dye. I dont agree.... but Im nobody when it comes to doctors.
How do i tell him that he has a boo-boo that can be treated. he is thinking that he's gonna be forced into retirement and all kinds of goofy shit. Trying to explain that good diet/exercise and maybe some meds might just do it for him. He just dont want to get over himself and listen....
HOW FUCKING FRUSTRATING !!!!!!!
What would you do ? Any ideas?
hey the Doc's think its Ok to wait a month for followup..... It cant be that bad, huh? ( Yeah, I know better..... I had to explain the radiology results of the first CT to the fuckin Doc.... yeah, its THAT bad)
What do i do ?
