I want to assist lots of people commit suicide.
The trouble is they don't want to die.

I think that would hover closer to the realm of murder and manslaughter.

Nah. Justifiable homicide.
Justified in my mind anyway.

Nik is like Darth Vader. He has much hate and conflict in him. he needs to let go the dark side.

I don't have "hate" in me.
Some people I just can't stand though.

Hey, that's the way our system is set up, if you can beat it, you win.
We put down our pets when their dieing, why can't we put down humans that are dieing and don't want to live anymore.

There have been some that tried, as I'm sure you know. For some reason the people that keep up with this type of shit don't like it. Maybe its taking power out of their hands, we all know that pisses the government off.

Fuck it. If they wanna die, they'll do it themselves anyway. This way will be less messy at any rate. I don't think their insurance should cover it or anything, but short of that, peace out folks. :awink:

Hmm.. If the Doc pulls the plug is it considered assisted suicide?
What about Terry Shaivo who, when they pulled the NG tube, starved to death?

I guess it depends on whether or not they have one of those DNRs or some other directive.

hmm well the way I understand our laws if my parent, in pain and dying of cancer or whatever and was terminal...if I helped them to check out sooner than "life's plan" of three more months of constant pain and suffering I could be charged with a crime. THAT should be a crime....I personally would risk it. I have watched a parent in those circumstances and a grandparent and felt helpless. I already have mine planned...I know how to give myself too much liquid morphine. being able to go out with dignity and on my own terms are more important to me.

If someone chooses to die,and they fit the criteria(terminal cancer and whatnot)..why shouldn`t they be able ?
Some may question their ability to make sound decisions..even if its the sickness and/or treatment thats killing their mind in the first place.

Well, right now a judge ordered a 13 yo boy to receive chemo to try and cure him.
That's mandated life.
Who gives the judicial system the right to over rule how I or my child decides to deal with an illness?

I think that in that case it's more a matter of the child not being old enough to have formed a sound opinion of what is appropriate medical care. Basically, he believes what his mommy tells him, and mommy is condemning him to death.

How is that, are you saying by giving him the chemo they're trying to kill him?

I'm saying it's the opposite of assisted suicide....it's forced living.

I think it's REALLY bad that you cant assist a loved one to die if you want to but the courts can MAKE you take your loved one in for treatment.
Something is definitely wrong with that.

Humans have an unreal sense of survival, apparently its "normal" to want to live and if somebody breaks out of line of that train of thought the "normal thinking enforcers" feel the need to break in and take over. Myself, if somebody wants to die, fuck 'em more room for me.
Sometimes there are times I think people help to make the right decision, but not many.

I think if the government got out of the business of trying to decide what is best for people and quit trying to protect us from ourselves, this would be a lot easier country to live in.
